Just got home from watching/video-ing my clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel install. All spoon.

The difference in throttle response is amazing with the spoon flywheel. I picked up both the stock and spoon and there is a huge difference in weight. I am told that the spoon flywheel is lightened by machining off material from the OEM. They look exactly the same, minus the groove where a thin "washer" goes on the OEM and the spoon is a bit thinner in the back. By far one of my favorite mods.

As far as grab-y-ness on the spoon clutch, I can't tell yet. Stock powerplant. The shop has a 440whp turbo S2K with the same clutch and they don't have any problems.

Engagement is NICE. Pedal is lighter. Engages a little quicker and if feels really good.

I'll have video up this weekend of the install. Not of the complete install but of the parts, drive shaft removal, transmission removal, and replacement.

from your description, it sounds like the spoon clutch/flywheel combo might be the way to go for me.

Actually it looked really easy, if you remove two motor mounts and happen to have a 3 feet long socket extension!

Nice! Your ride is coming along nicely. I'm not in the place to change out my clutch & flywheel, but will once they wear out I'll definitely consider this. Please keep us posted w/ the mod.

J's racing gave me a good deal on the parts and jwkim gave me a good deal on the installation, I am sure he would give you the same but you have to come to Korea to get it

Just under 1,700 for organic spoon clutch, spoon lightened flywheel, spoon pressure plate, honda oem throwout bearing, shipping, and installation.

I figure at install rates in the US running upwards of $80 in DC/Baltimore area and discounts from great vendors like J's I got a good deal.

I also can't emphasise enough the great work jwkim's mechanics do. They recognize problems and check over everything many times to make sure it is done right.

i was looking into the spoon kit as well. Looked pretty sweet but then i was told lightend flywheel causes vibrations on deceleration which causes gearbox to sieze? hence i didnt opt for a lightend flywheel and just went for the oem 02 replacement clutch.
