Single exit oem exhaust mod?
Hey guys
Im been in the market for a new single exhaust for a while and im looking everywhere for something thats suits my needs and realised no matter how good an exhaust is theres always some sort of drawback (loud mainly) .I was not planning to get any power out of an exhaust just reducing weight and bit more sound but i wanted the single look. I looked into the UK exhaust mod but im after single look than that gave me a idea. Im sure im not the first but i realized i can fabricate something out of the stock exhaust Plan is to cut from where the split is and weld a 60mm pipe to right hand side and muffler out. The thing is im not sure if it will be fine to reuse the original muffler or am i better off buying some aftermarket muffler as well if its too restrictive being single and too heavy. I would like to hear some opinions on this
Thanks in advance

The only issue I see is the pipe before the y pipe being a bigger diameter that the one going into the muffler. It does sound easy enough to do I would just wonder if having the larger pipe going into the smaller opening.

Yes thats why i would like some opinion on this. I remember stock pipes are like 60mm and than at the y joint splits to two 55mm piping. I was thinking using 60mm pipes to the oem muffler but apply the UK exhaust mod to make air flow out faster.

Do you know if the OEM muffler has an inlet of at least 60mm?

Im positive it does not. i know its around 55mm though

I don't mean the pipe leading up to the oem muffler but the actual opening of the inlet on the muffler itself.

Im sure it will be same as the pipe size leading into it.
Well decided to go with a 2.5inch magnaflow single exit. Hopefully its not as loud as i think and retaining the oem resonator will help keep drone as low as possible. Hopefully it can be done by today and i will post result and a pics/vid for anyone interested
