Default Shaving my rear badge soon, any tips?

My car is going into the shop soon for a full (exterior) repaint due to some vandalism a few weeks ago. Im planning on shaving the rear honda badge, any tips from people that have done it?

Im planning on sanding most of the trunk lid, removing the old, welding in the holes and grinding/sanding smooth.

I shaved my front and rear badges. For the rear I welded a small plate behind the holes and filled them with bondo before painting. for the front I laid a fiber glass patch on the back side and filled the holes in with bondo. However when I hit some road debris a couple years after paint, it disloged the fiberglass patch. So now i can see small circles in my paint where the badge holes are. If I did it again I would do it differently for the front.

fiberglass wont stick well, i was told by my shop that you have to bring it to a shop that specializes on bumpers to get the job done correctly. i dont remember the details but it costs a lot of money just for the 2 small bumper holes.

the way i did mine was just bondo, you can see the inprint of the 2 circles if you look closely(caused from bumper flexing and bondo isnt flexible) but it has held up fine for the past 2+ years. as for the trunk, keyhole was welded and the 2 emblem holes were bondo.
