ScienceofSpeed Sports Clutch w/ AP1 Flywheel
Hi all,
I did a search but couldn't find any info on a SoS sport clutch w/ an ap1 flywheel on an ap2. Any one have experience with this setup? I bring this up b/c a lot of ap2 owners that use the ACT clutch seem to pair it with an ap1 flywheel.

AP2 owners opt for the AP1 flywheel because its much lighter and much cheaper than buying an aftermarket lightened one. I'm headed down this route eventually. Heard good things about the SOS clutches.

Thats the set-up im going for on my 2005, pending approval from insurance. Too many negative reviews about the act clutch and it seems most agree the ap1 flywheel is the perfect weight, not too heavy-not too light! The sos clutch is beefier than the oem but not too harsh or noisy!

I have run the SOS sport clutch with a ap1 flywheel in the past and it felt like a stock ap1 other then a little clutch chatter when going into reverse. I currently have had it mated to a 8.3LB Act flywheel because I prefer the response/modulation/race car feel, however this can tend to exacerbate some chatter tendency, so I since got rid of the SOS friction disc and am running the OEM one with their PP and its smooth as butter, just like stock would be. This aside, pedal effort is exactly like stock Compared to the OEM clutch. "Flimsy" but its held 275trq for me so far, which is 20 over SOS rating. I just picked up a Novi 1200 to swap in from the 1000 so I will see if it can hold more then 275trq shortly.

Another great option is oem clutch disc with ACT pressure plate. Will hold a little more and engagement same as stock. I've had that setup for 50k miles now and going strong. No slipping at all.
