I like the seats for short drives (like my 45 min commute) and spirited driving, but on my first long drive with my 06 (my 02 never gave me issues) the seats actually caused me to get (or they at least hurried it up) sciatica. We drove from Philly to Killington VT (~6.5hrs) and I was in terrible pain for a few days, but I kept driving all around VT because it was just too much fun not to!

I get this exact issue myself, though I have never gotten it before in any manner, only when I drive my S2K for 2 hours or more. I can drive my Ford Escape 20 hours to Florida and not have one complaint, but my S2K for 2+ hours and I'm in some pain. I just need the seat to recline a bit more and that would solve my issue but I can't get much recline and have the seat a decent distance from the steering wheel.

The seat bottom is too short for adequate thigh support IMO, and I'm a short Jap. I'd love an aftermarket seat but Bride, Mugen and yes even Recarro is played, I want Richardos!

The seats are designed by a company called TS Tech http://www.tstech.se/carseats.htm
They design and manufacture car seats for many OEMs. From what I've been told, these were designed by TS Tech USA (Reynoldsburg, OH) and manufactured by TS Tech Japan (Gyoda). The source is a colleague of mine, and used to work for TS Tech. He also told me that everyone thinks Recaro designed the seats...I suppose that's a good thing.

I had Recaro's in a Ford SVT Euro Focus. Best seats I ever had. Why Ford put them in that car I have no idea.

You know, there was never anything officially stating that the seats were Recaros. It's a little bit of a legend, but I haven't seen it in anything but the popular press.

And apparently, according to people who have torn apart the seats, there aren't any markings on them.

I have had my seats apart - there are no markings on them.

No, they were made by Takashi - He drives a 370z and collects gambling debts on the side. His other name is DK.

On a side note - DRIEFFT - what's that?

Yep.

I I have had my seats out several times. Does not have the Recaro name anywhere on them.

If they were Recaros they'd be branded as such. If you really look at the seats it's pretty obvious that they aren't Recaros. Besides, Recaros would be cheaper to replace.

Definitely not just you as there are existing threads on this. However, my wife and I have no complaints and we've been on several 3,000-5,000+ mile road trips with a 15+ hour day on each trip. YMMV.
