FYI, don't cover a dirty car, especially outdoors. The on and off of the cover will cause the dirt to scratch the car. Outdoors any wind moving the cover will keep scratching it more. Plus dirt will get on cover, so even if car is clean next time, cover will scratch.
Car doesnt even have to be very dirty for cover to cause paint damage. So use cover for when car is parked for long intervals, as opposed to using it on a daily basis.
Outdoors a heavy cover will blow around less in the wind. So heavy is good, light is bad.

Do you happen to have a part number for this cover? When you say "not as soft" you mean that it can scratch the pAint outside?
