I've looked and looked and haven't been able to find a step by step picture guide on how to do this. I have a 2001 ap1 with a ripped plastic window. My friend has a 2001 ap1 that had the ap2 top with glass window. He is turning his into a track car and sold me his entire top with frame motors everything so I'm just going to swap it but need to know what to do since all the guides I've seen on here are just for replacing the soft top part and not the entire frame. Can someone help me out?

I have done this but took some shortcuts. My soft top was torn also, so I just cut the fabric off the frame. Obviously this made it much easier to take out. Putting the new assembly in was a different story. I am not sure which is supposed to go on first, the plastic rear tray or rain guard rail. Whichever one you do first makes it really hard to get to the other. My rear tray is just laying in there now, not attached at all but it doesn't seem to rattle.

The DIY that is already here does a decent job of explaining the basic process and the panels that have to be removed. I believe you have to remove roll hoop covers at well, mine were already split. Bolting it in is fairly straight forward once everything is out of the way, the bolts will be obvious. This might seem obvious, but save the latches from your old frame. They aren't cheap and you can get some $$ for them.
