Removing 2000 propshaft
Trying to remove the prop shaft in my 2000 s2000 i managed to get the transmission side bolts off no problems with an allen key and spanner to add leverage. But man oh man are the diff side brutaallllll. Im worried about stripping the inside of the allen headed bolts if i put anymore force on them.
What does anyone reccommend? Should i buy an impact driver with an allen spcket to fit? Or get a larger allen key? Or use heat and a hammer to shoxk them loose? I cant even use a socket cause they are round heads and ive tried vise grips but they just keep sliding off.. Anyone any tips to get these off?
Thanks

Your gonna strip them and have to replace them anyways, you can pick up new grade 8 Allen head bolts from ace hardware for cheap they are about 3/8" longer but still work. Plus you won't have to wait for Honda to get new ones you'll have them right away.

Use an allen wrench and a set of vise grips on the bolt and turn both at the same time. The vice grips keep the head from deforming and help it turn.

hitting it with your hand or a hammer so it works like an impact driver is your best bet. i Just use my hand.
I use a socket with an extension on it for this job. Just make sure you pound the tool into the bolt. Also some allen keys will have a slightly rounded tip and the hexagon shape will not go all the way to the end of the key. If this is the case, it is not a bad idea to grind the end down.

Doesn't really matter, however unless it's got a smaller head wrenches don't fit very well. They just didn't leave much room for the wrench to fit between the drive shaft and the bolt, I've tried before and my wrenches didn't fit over the head all the way. After replacing the factory ones with the ones from Ace I've never had them strip out again so I just reused them, I've replaced the clutch like 6 times now.
