Removed clutch delay
#22
I installed an AP1 clutch slave in my AP2 and the clutch engagement is better but not where I want it to be. I am guessing the clutch is a bit glazed and on it's way out with 20k on it.
Going to be looking into a lightened flywheel, clutch, and PP plate this winter...
I don't shift at red all that much but when I do, the delay/slip is ANNOYING , X-specially when getting on a highway!

I bought my car with 8k miles and never even drove it hard with the delay in. I took it out when I went to a new clutch. Seem like the car is supposed to be. After driving next to Cam and hearing his slip, Im glad I did. Those gears he has make it nasty!

wow, i havent dont this on my s2k yet, but i did do it on my 240sx. the difference is amazing. u can almost feel the engine backing plate spinning behind ur left foot as u shift at high revs!! i love it now, it drifts so much better too and its got like no kind of pressure plate on it.
the s2k has a pressure plate and is pretty close with the pressure plate on the stock clutch. it always has been able to chirp 1st to 2nd n vtec wif the pressure plate. considering doing the bleeder delete on the S after a clutch upgrade from OEM.
Oh and ive also heard that ugrading to a stronger pressure plate will lengthen the life of ur clutch!!! i can attest to this, i learned to drive stick on my S and the OEM clutch with ACT pressure plate is still very strong!
