Default Rebolstering and lowering seat.

I was getting really bad back pains with my seats because the seat was losing some of its bolster. Contemplating new seat/ aftermarket seats id thought id hack up my own and see if it would help. Being a low budget job, it couldnt hurt. Being 6 ft tall i had trouble seeing stop lights, and knee was hitting the wheel, there's lack of lower back support and to be honest it wasnt comfortable at all. I was considering a new daily driver.

Over the years, the seat where the buttocks goes was losing its firmness and it was definitely giving me back pains. I tried to use a jacket for support and put a towel behind the seat for more comfort but it just wasnt supportive enough. I know many you guys have trouble being ^ 6 foot tall fitting in the seat. ( im about 6 ft and 180 lbs, i really dont know how taller ppl sit comfortably in i)

Here is what i did.

i followed https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/450...-seat-install/ how to take the leather skins/seat off.

Everything took about 3 or so hours.

you need:
12mm and 14mm socket
zapstraps
trim/lining adhesive spray
new foam
knife

The side bolsters were destroyed, time to pad that back up!
also removed the original padding with a knife and shaved down the leg support down as well.

I went to a upholstery shop to sell me some new bolsters for the seat, 10 bucks got me plenty enough.

I test sat combinations of foam position before i seated it in with adhesive. The rear has higher density seat foam because i felt it needed more support ( Guess the seat is gonna be customized to my ass =) ) * dont try to use sponges, use actually upholstery seat foam.

now put the skin back on, and ziptie the rings back in.

now putting seat back in.

My head used to be above the headrest, now it sits nicely under it by and inch or so.

It has lowered the seat position by about 2inches.. I know i know, its such a hack job, the seat doesnt look as full anymore but it was a low risk high reward type of job because i hated the seat, the back pains were painstaking, and vision was terrible. Now i sit comfortably inside the car and the seat its self is firm and supportive. I really wish i had down this sooner because it was painful driving it, and i bet many of you guys can relate to the lack of vision ( stop lights) and comfortableness of the seat. With no bias at all, this seat is amazingly comfortable and leg room is amazing, i really wish i had done this soon. You guys can hate that it is butchered but i personally think it amazingly confortable compared to my old seat. I couldnt bare driving in back pain, but now it feels amazing to drive the car.

Hope this thread may help some of you guys out there. The new bolster+ towel behind the seat( pushes out lower back support pocket)+ lowering of 2 inches was exactly what i was looking for, and it costed me about 15 bucks to experiment before i buy a new seat, but now i dont think i will be buying a new seat for a while =P

* some clazzio blk on blk new skins might be int he near future =P
