Crush collar failed on mine causing the pinion to retract and shred a number of teeth on both it and the ring. One of the pieces even busted through the diff cover causing it to leak all the oil. Pretty lame

You need to look at the inline pro diff or I have been hearing about a mustang conversion diff as well. You may need more power.

Think puddymod and the inline conversion are your best bets... Just wandering, if you change oil regularly and only track your s2k (no hard launches) is there minimal chance of it failing? What if you don't drift but give it a cheeky slide in the wet coming out of a junction lets say... but NO dry sliding or drifting!!

"best bets" depend on your goals for the car

I dont think changing the oil often has anything to do with the caps failing or the crush collar collapsing. I don't know when I actually busted the diff but Im pretty sure it was a combination of really hard driving with the Greddy Turbo kit and numerous fat burnouts through downtown Portland.

well i dont know much about diffs but you might try looking into diff conversions i believe they sell conversion kits for nissan diffs. It might be more expensive at first but i think it would pay off to start with a strong diff instead of strengthening a weak one. Please chime in if im wrong

The factory Honda drift team does not think so

I am building two drift rears for them based off the factory rear. One with a Carbon LSD and a NOS set of 4.57R gears. The other will have a few other custom made parts made and installed as well.

Like any part of any car everything has it

Would the comptech reinforced diff housing and a Carbonetics LSD do the trick?
