Default Quote for rear glass window install

Got c/f hardtop with glass window, anyone has any experience on how much it roughly cost for a professional shop to install it? Please let me know, thanks!

Also, does it matter if I tint the window myself before sending it to the shop to get it installed? Seems to be a lot of easier to do the edges of the window and have the gasket material cover the imperfections of the tint. Otherwise I'll have to cut around the edges of the gasket when the window is already on the hardtop.

I would try to get it tinted before you install it man, it will just make it that much easier for the tint person. Also it just depends on who does it, shouldnt cost more than $50 if you have the window and trim, and they just install it for you. Tint for just that shouldnt be to much either. You shouldnt really pay more than $100 to get the window tinted then installed.

I really want to tint it before install, but would that make any difference for the window installation? Like does it make it more difficult for the guy installing the window after my window is tinted?

Nope, tinting the window does not affect anything with installation. Get it tinted, then get it installed.

He would have to be more careful so he doesn't damage the film... but it also depends on what type of window and seal you have. Is it the simple window window weld one, or the upgraded one with thicker rubber and requires the hardtop's window ledge to be pinched between the seals?

Yeah the VIS ones have that little indention on the seal to insert the window. I know they will have to be careful putting it on so they don't peel the tint film, but a shop should already know this.

Yep, in the second pic you can see where the window is inserted. I installed my own rear window in my VIS top, so yeah.
