Haha! My baby will be a bit louder. Reading this thread makes me sad bcuz i enjoy watching the tach go up to redline but on the positive side i can show a bit more restrain when it comes to speeding....um....to the speed limit and save on mpg. TheNoisySK doesn't sound as cool as my current user name. So i'll be light on the throttle for my name sake. Haha!

Here is my Q300 V4, stock header, cat.
I don't find it loud at all, in fact I totally love it

Came across this in another thread (https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/964...#entry21863139), where Gernby is building an anti drone performance enhancing midpipe.
Anyway as you can see from his testing, the sound level for the Q300 goes off the charts almost when paired with a high flow cat, I don't know why this is but I feel way less confused and conflicted now. I was really going a little bit mental with people saying it's super quiet when mine was obnoxiously loud. I do think that the Q300 would probably be significantly better with the factory cat but in my case mine was ruined and I wasn't going to fork out for a new one.
My factory exhaust is back on having done the UK exhaust mod using 20mm pipe. It's not too quiet in fact I was quite surprised how much louder it is than stock when you go WOT. It's a very satisfying sound that increases in volume as revs and load rise, whereas the Q300 seemed to be maximum volume at 30% throttle or more. Idle is almost identical to factory, which is a good thing for stealth, but it's not as satisfying as the deep tone the Q300 had, still I don't miss the Q300 for a second.
Thanks for all your input, case closed

Go back to stock. You may never be happy with any aftermarket exhaust. Why risk any expenditure on making this exhaust more quiet? I have the Invidia V3 and also fond memories of my stock sound. Aftermarkets are either something you like or tolorate and in my case, it's a little of both.

i dont know whats going on with your set up im running a single and i know for a fact that its much louder than a dual and my single can be loud but at the same time if you drive it normal all you hear is the humming so either you have a bolt not sitting correctly or you might of gotten a bad batch of the dual also if you run HFC theres lots of drone so just pair it up with a test pipe and some anti foulers that way u dont trip the computer on. and i got a single and i dont need ear plugs like you mentioned earlier

Yeah Q300 is pretty quite, at first I thought it was too loud, now I wish it was louder. Although I can't really listen to the radio unless I have my HT on. But anyway if it is loud as you say it is something must be wrong.
