Default Projectors messing up HID color?

I was wondering if anyone here has swapped out the stock bulbs for a whiter, or slight blue HID, and whether or not the projector altered the color or not.

I got 6000k HID's installed in my other car, and the projectors ended up altering what should have been slightly blue lights to a weird aqua/light green/ocean color. Does this happen in ap2 projectors? I don't want to buy and install bulbs and have them a weird color i'm unhappy with.

No they don't. Just buy quality name brand bulbs not ebay junk.

Cool, thanks! I get my HID's from DDM Tuning. They're close to where I live and are really well priced. A friend of mine put them in his e30 and they were the perfect color, I put them in my mazda and I got a weird green/aqua color

The projector does change the bulb characteristics. The s2000 has arguably some of the best. I went the cheap way once,....and the two bulbs were different even though both were the same 4300k temp.
Stick with oem Phillips or osram....even GE for brands in my opinion

Those are super cheap ebay HID's. Not quality like oem HIDs. As said above stick with the Phillips or the Osram cbi bulbs. Really good quality bulbs!

^Yeah they are basically ebay HID kits. Seem to be pretty poor quality but since so cheap can buy a few sets to have I guess. I'd rather spend the money on a quality set of bulbs.

I originally had one of these kits in my rx330 retrofit on my old 300zx. I spent a while trying to figure out why it had poor output. I ultimately determined that the cheap chinese bulbs' focal point is not nearly in the right spot, which resulted in the output being crap. I switched to a quality bulb and the light output was significantly better.

EDIT: I remember looking into this topic with my old TL as well. Everyone on acurazine and HID planet is really into the newer Osram CBI bulbs. However, as with most things, you have to pay to play as these bulbs are far from cheap..

Any suggestions for bulbs a bit more affordable? Js2k.com lights are out of stock, if they were in I'd try them out just for fun. Anyone else have experience with them?
