Default pressure plate/ friction disk combo.

I have a few friends who have had bad experiences recently with a.c.t. pressure plate/friction discs in their replacement clutch assemblies. That being said, who has any feedback on

Centerforce pp/fd

https://www.centerforce.com/products...0?cookietest=1

Competition clutch pp/fd
8023-2100 (pn#)

Spec pp/fd (stage one or stage two)

Also, exedy oem replacement model

Or the act is still on my list.

What I'm looking for, stiffer, than oem, but driveable as a daily, fast grab and even release. Longterm variable durability (auto cross, daily driving, spirited driving)

Thanks for your input! I'm going with an oem ap1 flywheel
The car is a 2006 with rather low miles for needing a clutch but the previous owners had the car up north and seemed to enjoy keeping their foot firmly planted.

SOS advertises stock feel with a stronger pressure plate.

I'm not endorsing, just sharing another option.

I appreciate the input sir!

Also leaning toward the competition clutch stage 2 because I have a friend who vends their product and I can get a decent warranty on parts through them. Still open to options, I'm going to look into the sos stuff now. Thanks.

SOS also has a true carbon twin disk clutch setup that is extremely tempting. Still crazy expensive though

I have the SOS sport clutch. I have no complaints with the PP, but the friction disc can be very chattery at low speeds and therefore makes it a bit less street-friendly than the OEM disc. When it comes time for me to replace the disc, I will be replacing with an OEM disc like Junky did on his SOS clutch kit.

How much torque do you think that setup can hold? Do you think the SOS pressure plate is any better/stronger than the ACT?

SOS says it can hold about 250 ft-lbs. I know Junky is currently maxing a 1200 blower with his setup and his is holding thus far with the SOS PP and an OEM disc. I would assume that the SOS PP is equivalent to the ACT HD PP.

SOS will not sell just the PP by itself, which I find annoying... especially now knowing that the SOS friction disc is kinda grabby.

Act/oem combo will hold more than SOS. Act combo is rated for 350ft lbs tq if I remember correctly which is a lot of hp!

Perfect setup imo. Zero noise. Engages exactly like stock since clutch is oem and pressure plate has tons of grabbing power.
I have 60k+ miles on that setup with over 400whp and never slipped at all.

Good to know! Is that 60k even on the OEM disk? Thanks
