Default Plate Frame

Well the local authorities have been cracking down on front plates and the state is looking to increase the fine and maybe make it a insurance point offense...

I have been running without a plate on all my fun cars for years, stopped a handful of times for it, but never a ticket...

Well not wanting to push my luck to much further with the rumors of changes to the law I wanted to find a way to install the plate not using the factory mounts and keep the look clean...

Found this...

I installed it last night, took pictures this morning, left the camera in the car so I don't have the pics with me right now. Probably get some up after lunch for you guys... Got to tweak it a bit to get it level but looks nice and hangs about the same height as the under tray flaps in front of the front wheels. Still got to be careful parking and you low guys probably won't like it so low but you could easily slide it in the grill with a bit of modification...

looks interesting. I'll wait until you post up the pics. I've been wanting to look for a clean way to hide the license plate and leave it back on when I park it somewhere. I only had two fix it tickets twice because I parked at an area with DPT METER freaks. I still love the clean look without license plate.

The mounting plate for the unit is like 9" long and it hangs down about an inch from the car.

The plate frame is slightly larger then the US plates to give it a framed look. It protrudes off the front fascia about 3/4" to let it swing up but not really noticeable when the plate is down.

They give tickets when it's parked? I thought it was only a moving violation.

Saw someone with this locally on their s2k. Looks good. I've always just rocked no plate and never got a ticket. Kept my FL plates for that reason still. Front plate on the S really looks terrible. It sucks.

Open (I know I got to adjust a bit cause it's on an angle a touch, probably the undertray hardware right underneath it)
