did you get a deal on your intake because of that dent on it?
This intake is brand new and that dent is part of the design, it's CAD design is to funnel air efficiently into the throttle body area. It is on display at SuperAutobacs. It is shaped to fit under the ASM hood, hood prop, among other things.

The intake is flawless, venturi air channel shapes and all.

Stock air box gutted ... no risk of hydrolock. Throttle response is greatly increased. Car feels quicker but I don't know if there was any increase ...

Yeah, that is I think version 1, I have version 2 where it is now three pieces instead of the two put together pieces you see in that Bulletproof pic. Also the scoop extends all the down to the air dam.

It is more vibration friendly so to say in the 3 pc format. Also a lot more concave and conture shapes to the CF to channel air to the throttle.

You will need to cut OEM hood to fit, or just get a clearance friendly hood like Mugen or ASM hood.

J's Racing Intake!! I just got mine installed this past weekend. A little fabrication on the hood is required to fit, but the results make up for it. Sounds amazing, looks awesome and you can definitely feel the pull in vtec imo.

Before K&N install

After install

There are probably better intakes than K&N, but not for the money.
and it sounds soooooooo good.
