it's only as good as it's smallest(thinest) opening.
That's the beauty of a RAM air system... The taper size is very in-significant... Positive high pressure will be forced into any size open/channel. The concept is vey simillar to that of a shop air line hose and the air inside it.

That's fine if you are ALWAYS going fast enough to take advantage of the ram effect. What happens when you are starting from a stop or going say under 80mph for the ram to be working?

Looks like a VERY poor design IMO.

You make an analogy to the shop air hose, but I think the analogy of trying to breath through a soda straw or a garden hose is better and more realistic.

try breathing through a straw then remove the straw and breathe throuhg a 2" pipe. Guesswhich one is easier. You cant compare it to a shops hose cuz thats running off a compressor at 140psi. When I can push 140psi while staying N/A i will give you a call

Looks like it is designed specifically to take the air from the area around the exhaust manifold

I wonder why they don't make a heat shield for it?

That thing looks like it heat soaks BAD.

Why is it so hard to make a decent intake thats affordable for our cars? IMO the j's racing intake is perfect. Its enclosed so heat doesnt reach it, rams air from the front of the bumper, and very lightweight. Unfortunately I dont feel on spending 1000+ for a couple of hp....

If somebody made a replica of J's racing or at least something remotely similiar but offer it for waay less, it would be a hit.

I have the J's and while it has a nice setup, you have to have a lot of patience for it.

Will not fit most hoods and bumpers. I had to modify my hood and two bumpers to get that SOB to fit.

But if you can handle that then go for it. Saw 2 F/S for about 800 each respectively. May only get a few hp, but the aesthetics are FTW.
