Yes, if you want to keep the underneath small spash guard, then you will need to cut it.

I just removed and stored it instead of cutting it, it doesn't look like it does much anyway

I just got a short ram intake on ebay (larger diameter then stock), cut it to fit in the stock air box && wraped it in thermo-tec insullations wrap (so it would keep cool). I then gutted the stock air box (that middle plastic piece) added an ebay spoon style snorkel and ebay cooling plate with the little scoop that goes around the snorkel. oh and of course a K&N filter.

total cost was under $300

well damn, i just got an 07 s2k and now i'm OFFICIALLY
confused with what really does work...

i guess it all just comes down to personal preference,
a cai is a cai.
just find a way to drown out the hot air, n theres
your gain.

sucks though that aem is taking forever making the v2
for our cars, they've have had more then a year already.
what the heck?

i guess i'm sticking with the stock box for now. ftw

I modified my stock box.

Gutted the inside, lined it with insulating foil and added another tube that runs behind the headlight. I had ram air but got tired of cleaning bugs out of it...so I took it off.

No problem...

K&N filter

AUT radiator plate

The Insulating foil I got from Lowes, it's called single bubble insulating foil or something
along those lines. Smallest roll I could find was $20, I had a lot left over.

The intake tube and adapter I got from Autozone, they were like $25 for both.

Also, the part where the Aut plate connects to the airbox I have a piece of aluminum sheet with foil taped on the underside that lays on top of the radiator to further block heat.

I used double sided carpet tape to hold down all the foil.

If you want more info or pics let me know.

I figured the aut, and the K & N and luckiley it's what I was going with. I'm curious if you have a pic of where the tube going through the fender gets the fresh air from. Di you route it to the grill are?

Thank you for all the info by the way
