Done two v2 installs myself. First time on my car, and then the next when I sold my V2 and installed for another member. If I remember install took about 15 minutes, and you have to cut no matter what cold air system you get. Hydrolock wasn't a big issue as the intake if you look closely extends higher up in the bumper and is even positioned upward.

I figure unless you stop in about 2 feet of water then your fine.
+1

Filter is as the front as maximum possible, water shouldn't be a problem unless you've cut a LOT too much !

Running V2, just very happy (more than with the Injen)

Subscribed. Wondering if any of you are incorporating a velocity stack w/ these intakes. I dynoed my car w/ the top of the airbox off w/ the stock filter and then w/ the velocity stack on the stock intake pipe and it picked up a few hp and tq throughout the rev band.
great ! I was waiting for somone to dyno a stack. was this dyno with filter or without ? how was filter fitment in the stock box ?

I thought the AEM V2 was a short ram!>?!?!

I have an AEM CAI, and it looks like the one in the pic.... Reaches down under the pass headlight.

Am I on crack? I had the impression that the V2 was a short version that doesnt extend to the inside of the bumper.

U are on crack!

it's a cold air set-up. same as their regular cold air, just bigger.

right and false.

V2 system is the vortex system, with specific lenghts and bores.

It looks like a CAI on most Honda, but it's not in its conception.

It's just that tje right sizes needed are made via big lenghts, so CAI on S2K !

V1 and V2 both extend down into the cavity below the headlight (front bumper)

i know.

what I meant by my statement is that it has the same placement of the filter as the v1.

Yes, the filter is in the same location. One thing to watch for is that on the V2, the filter is pointed up slightly. This can be problematic as it tends to trap water in the tubing. More than one owner has reported having troubles because the pipe is not able to drain and they ingested water into the motor. You don't have to go puddle-hopping or across flooded intersections to run into trouble.

Some have adapted an "umbrella" to cover the top of the filter. This helps to protect it from above.

Consider plugging the front left drain hole in the engine compartment. It is directly over the filter and soaks it when doing something something as simple as washing the car or sitting in the rain.
