The temperature of the air getting into the intake manifold from AEM/Fujita is ambient +1-2 degrees at speed. This is tested first hand from me with a sensor.
Also, the S2000 tends to like a long intake pipe, not too long, but longer than a short ram (maybe 2.5-3 feet is optimal). Why exactly this is I don't know (perhaps the pressure wave), but it comes from a tuner that has done hundreds of S2000s.

In low rpms it does make a growl and when vtec engages I hear it for a split second.

I understand the idea behind re-plumbing the coolant hoses and making an adapter for the air temp sensor, but after speaking with an AEM engineer, they would prefer to test different designs on the car to ensure there are no issues with how it behaves with the minute differences between the cars. Different ECU's, air temp sensor, etc. and to be honest, I agree with him. Am I saying that the old intakes won't work with this car? Nope. Am I saying there could be slight things that need to be changed to improve performance? There sure could be...

The ARC one is so hot
Does it do anything in terms of throttle response or power? It's gotta do something right?

I finished prototyping the intake shield tonight. It started getting dark and I was hungry so I decided to head in. I'll make the shield using aluminum tomorrow. The intake filter is a B&M 8-layer w/ an inverted cone. The pipe was cut from an extra piece of 3" stainless pipe that I had lying around.
I think this setup is perfect because the filter is completely shielded from the rest of the engine bay and the inverted cone is breathing right from the big hole.
