Default OEM Hardtop

I have an 01 S and I'm currently looking at buying a oem hardtop for it. Will I run into any issues with installation since its an early model or is the oem hardtop universal for all s2k's?

If it's an OEM top, you will not have any issues with it. There are a few resources here with detailed instructions that may be helpful. If you're buying from Hardtopguy, he will also supply you with directions as well as the defroster harness for any year.

Just take your time and everything will be fine. Loosen the rear bolts (3 of them I believe) on the hardtop and mount it. Make sure it's aligned, and then tighten. Easy. Good luck.

Its pretty straight forward. Look up the instruction for installing OEM. Since yours an 01 you would need extra harness and hardware. Simple. GL

DO NOT TAKE APART YOUR ROLL HOOPS!!!!!!

Those are bolted down, if you take them apart they will never go back together like OEM.

True. But for an OEM hardtop install, there's no need to even get close to the rollhoops. It's not involved in anything.

Pretty straight forward as others have stated. The scariest part for me though was when I read that I had to take a hammer and center punch to my car. No biggie though, you'll see.
