And the fog lights are in
Good news as well, I took pictures every step of the way and am going to make a detailed DIY on this the fog lights look really great and I'll include pictures in my DIY, but I definately agree that this is a moderate level project. You will definately need someone who has good experience with a dremel because the custom cuts are not something that you will be able to do yourself if this is your first time. It took me 9 hours but it was definately worth it

Yes the most difficult part was cutting out the hole and making custom brackets. Looking forward to your diy to see how you fared. =}

Well until the DIY is complete I have run into some issues with the fog lights

I'm on my second bulb in 2 weeks, what appears to be happening is either one of two things

1: The bulb is being shorted out by water somewhere and is getting burnt up

or

2: The bulb is too strong for those lights so I need a lower watt bulb? Isn't 3100W the normal range for those fog lights?

It looks as if the light focuser is being peeled off, so the bulb is too hot maybe and is burning itself out? IDK
any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I too have been having issues with bulbs burning out prematurely. I want to blame it on the wiring harness that was supplied. Anyone have a cause and possible solution?

think I might have actually figured it out. On the back of the fog lights there is a drain hole with rubber tubing over it to let the excess heat and moisture out of the lamp itself. When I took of the rubber backing to examine the hole, I discovered a piece of thick sticky tape covering up the drain hole, thus preventing the lamp from being able to drain or evaporate excess moisture as well as being able to let the excess heat escape from the lamp housing which would explain our bulbs overheating and blowing themselves out, as well as my housing starting to melt

I simply removed the tape and put the rubber backing back on and now time will tell if that solved the problem
But the bulb getting so hot that it shorts itself out was the only probable explanation I could find for our bulb issue

And also I volto'd all the wires and they seem to be all getting the same amount of current?
