This is for a Autometer electric oil pressure gauge, so it needs its own sender. Thx
Ok, so that answered the second question, but not the first.

1) Why do you consider it a mistake to mount the sender on the sandwich plate?

As for the second question, I asked because I have a PLX OP sensor that I mounted in place of the stock sending unit (the PLX sending unit has two outputs - one for the dummy light, the other for the gauge) and was curious why you didn't mount your sending unit there (apparently the difference is in the sending unit itself).

Thx.

Ahh I see

Yes, they are different. Since most gauges like the autometers come with their own sender unit, an easy way to install it is to purchase an Oil Filter Sandwich Adapter that has two or four 1/8 NPT threaded holes, hence this is were you would install the gauges' sender unit.

The oil pressure sender, as seen in my pics, is big and somewhat heavy. Screwing it in directly into the oil filter adapter is not ideal because of the vibration generated by the engine. It will either break off or fail preaturely due to this. This is why mounting it remotely using a braided oil line is the ideal method. Hope that answers your question and thanks for thread jacking

i installed mine a couple of days ago. without spacers it touched the stock intake tubing. i added a 2mm and a 1mm washer and it clears fine. hood closes fine. the only thing now is i cant take my carbon fiber intake cover off.

the bar looks nice and cant beat it for the price

im assuming the tubing is about the same as the stock tubing. it should clear with the spacers but might still touch alittle bit on the wrap.
