Default newly cut key will crank no start

Greetings S2k lovers,
Lol, you got to be if youre a S2k owner. aint cheap.
so, i got a blank key from the dealership about a year ago when i got the S. most will get only one key when they buy the car used. the STEALERSHIP wanted so much to cut to program and whatever they claim they have to do. most of these people dont even know what car i'm talking about. they dont even know that HONDA made a RWD car.
so i held on the the blank key until i went to COSTCO yesterday and they had van parked out doing keys and fobs etc. they can do a key for me from the keys they have. that worked great. they offered to cut my OEM blank for free. so, i ended up getting a working spare key that worked perfectly and an OEM key that worked on all the key holes that will crank the engine but no start.
so, i need help on what i can do to make the OEM key to start the engine.
thanx so much!!!

pretty sure you need to have your key programmed at the dealership.

this, or a auto locksmith. The immobilizer is engaged. The key needs to be paired to the ECU

You can buy a tool to do it, but I cannot find the thread quickly about it. Pretty sure there is a thread on here where someone posts which tool they used.

Just did this and bought a Launch Scanner off of Amazon to program 2 new keys. Took about 10 minutes for both, and the Launch is a better scanner than the bluetooth one I was previously using with an app on my phone.

Amazon Amazon
