I think the question the OP needs to ask himself is are the holes in his fake Bride seats engineered to support the force of the belts clamping down on them in a crash.

My money is on the seat collapsing and then the spine.

Or, in this fantastic design where pivot point of the top 1/2 of the seat is being asked to support the force of the occupant being thrown forward in an accident, the seat hinge will fail causing the driver and passenger to eat airbags and dashboards. Sounds like a great time.

OP, take your seats back out, and support them by the bottom 1/2 with the top 1/2 parallel to the ground and unsupported. Now put your face under the top 1/2 of the seat and have someone else jump up and down on the harness hole area. Have your passenger do the same.

Think the hinges will hold?

Any recommendations on where to get a harness bar? P.s. It's kinda nice that most of you guys are worried about my saftey. I'm pretty sure you don't want to see a crash in the news and then everybody says we told him so and life goes on. I'd like to be there for the "life goes on" part. On a side note I installed some fat mat and the exhaust drone was cut in half. Only added 5 lbs to the car so not a bad trade off. I plan on getting some more and lining it under the soft top tray and in the doors. The fat mat works just as good as dynamat and tsunami silencer and is half the price!

Is there some reason not to use the factory belts? It looks like they would work fine with that style seat.

Has anybody touched on wearing a harness during a rollover without a rollbar, or what happens to your head and neck in a front-end collision without HNR.
