Default New DC Header?

Ive searched the forums and the only thing i can find for DC headers is the 4-1 Stainless header that has been said to give 1-3 hp in the midrange..

I found a Ceramic DC sports header 4-2-1 design... Could this be the same header? just ceramic coated..

Anyone with this header ?

This is the only info provided from Official header thread 1

DC Sports: 4-1 design. 45mm primaries. 1-3 hp gains across the RPM range, dyno provided by Import Tuner Magazine: Here ~$400.

and a picture was provided in the second official header thread
DC Sports - $400
4-1 design. 45mm primaries. A very cheap header. No real benefits from this, but has been magazine tested showing 1-3hp gains.

Here is the ceramic one ive seen.

definitley a 4-2-1

and i thought maybe it was a cheap header ceramic coated.. but theres an actual product code for DC Sports on the package

Anyone?

I have the DC ceramic coated 4-2-1 header. This header and the 4-1 are different designs. From what I hear the 4-2-1 header does not give you any gains...it just weighs less then stock. I'm not sure if DC makes a ceramic 4-1 design either...

After you installed did you notcie any differnces mid range? top end?

Do you have exhaust? test pipe?

did it make the car alot louder?

are you still able to use the OEM black heatshield inbetween the headers and the AC lines?

Pictures installed?

Difficulty of install?
Price you paid?

Thanks in advance! Sorry for the 20 questions

No problem. I purchesed the header at hopupracing.com and right now they are $346 plus tax with free shipping. There are a whole bunch of other headers on there you could check out. I do not have an exhaust but I have the sound resonator cut out of the stock exhaust and the AEM V1 cold air intake. IMO it sounds clean...especially at 9K . Not ricey at all. It was a direct install so everything fit back on like stock. I noticed some gains but I had the Intake and header installed about the same time so it could be a combo of the 2. I don't have any pics at the moment but I could take some this weekend and post. As for the install it was not too bad. I did it myself in my garage

Thanks alot man!

I really like the fact you can keep the heatshield and that they are ceramic coated.

I just purchased them for 290 Shipped brand new.

Did you drop the header in from the bottom of the car up? or the otherway around

Why would you spend $300+ on a header that doesn't gain any power?

Headers themselves might not gain any power..
i have a test pipe and 70mm invidia catback to go with it though

also headers is something you will need to do if you go the supercharger route which i plan on doing when i find the right deal. All that extra air it generates will need to be released therefore you need the header to help get the exhaust out quicker.

also to be technical i am not spending 300+ it is 290 shipped
and the header gives 1-3hp gain
And on any s2000 NA application $100 per horsepower is actually not bad.

ALSO this header is lighter than the stock stainless header
ALSO this header is ceramic coated which will dissipate and reduce heat in the engine bay preventing heatsoak.

Thats not a DC header..... Its made by First, 4 into 1 and has 50mm primarys. Dont waste your money on anything with 45's they don't flow any better than stock and in some cases you will loose power.....
