Default Mugen Replica Rear Seal

This install is driving me nuts! Any ideas? The seal keeps flopping off the window, I tried heating to corners so they form better but it didn't help much. Thanks! -Kyle

Thanks, but I have read that thread a few times. I was wondering if anyone with experience had a detailed solution of what to do with the rear window seal. I have read ~10 install threads and none of them go in to depth with that, and my seal is pretty annoying.

Is it just the corners flopping up or that whole window??

If its just the corners, you can use adhesive glue to make them stay down. The tension of the window seal makes it flop up.

Mostly the corners but I am thinking the seal has been sitting (and the adhesive drying out?). Will the window weld work for this? Also, should I sand the indentation down? (It has a base + clear over it).

Depends on which seal you have and which window. When I first got my lexan window the seal had a protective film that you had to remove to expose the pigment (easy to miss) with the glass window I just got it didn't have this so all it took was a firm press into the glass edge and some patience. Either way try either looking for the clear film and pressing it it firm againts the edges annnnd take your time.

Good luck, hope this helps

Oh and use some gorilla glue to join the two ends of the rubber together, not a lot though

I bought this secondhand but not installed. I think what happened is the guy I bought it from removed the film on the seal and it dried out before I got a hold on it. I am leaning towards using epoxy/gorilla glue or window weld to get the seal to stick to the window which is polcarbonate. LMK what you guys think.

speaking from experience be careful with window weld, it can be messy and quick to get messy

Update: I had some success with an mixture epoxy I bought at Fry's, it is messy though. My Window Weld was dried up and I don't have $ for more... so until next week. Do I sand the indentation down for the window?
