i am going to have a shop maybe make it for me and do the install... i want to have my rear window tinted.. i asked a shop to do the plexiglass but they said i would need some static tint so it stays on, but will it bubble up over time? does anyone have their rear plexiglass tinted with success?they said the tint just sticks on with static and can be peeled off and put back on

you posted the same thing 4 hours ago. i'll say again that the window provided with the hardtop already has a very dark tint.

I don't see an issue. Yes, the Mugen plexiglass already comes tinted but I didn't find it to be dark enough.

Had my tinted with conventional tint, no bubbles, fades or issues.

haha. honestly I don't even think the Mugen (real) top comes with plexiglass (acrylic).. it's polycarbonate (lexan)

I was thinking about doing this... I bought a used carbon seibon hardtop and the plexiglass it came with was shit so I trashed it along with the crappy seal and replaced it with a solid piece of lexan. I tinted both sides to avoid bubbles and the nasty scratches and all the other crappy elements of owning lexan or plexiglass. The issue I have now is the outside tint looks like shit now due to bubbles and what not plus my seal isnt oem fit and it looks like crap. I want to trash the lexan and the seal and put glass that doesnt mare and put it in with the proper oem seal.

I am thinking about having a place make a custom piece of glass... my question is, does anyone know where I can find that seal? I searched for a bit but havent come across a site or a place that carries just the rear window seal for my mugen replica hard top.

Any help guys?

THANK!
