Default Mooncraft top install - Questions on rear brackets

Most of the install is pretty straight forward - swap soft top latches onto the hardtop, the funky hook bolts for the sides - but I'm confused about the rear 3 brackets.

This picture shows them, and with the soft top still in the car (like mine has).

In another thread I found this pic and statement:

there are 3 brackets for the back: you have to remove the rear tray to have access to the 12 mm bolts that will hold these brackets

Now I don't want to remove my softtop (at least not yet) and I see the same hardtop installed with the soft top in place...

Is it relatively easy access to find these "12mm bolts" to attach the brackets to? Do I need to basically remove the rear of the softtop and reinstall it?

I'm not sure if the install between the black trim piece and the body, or the black trim piece and the soft top...

I checked the soft top DIY but the pics and instructions weren't very clear...

HELP!

you will have to remove the rear tray and the rear part of the soft top to access the area wear these brackets mount. Basically you will pull the soft top off of the studs, place the brackets on the studs, reinstall soft top and bolt it down. They are not 12mm if I remember correctly they are 10mm.

So this is a relatively simple unbolt some stuff, rebolt some stuff kinda job?

No cutting holes in the top or anything irreversible?

I'm not saying its simple by any means. The soft top is a PITA to put back into place by yourself. You will need some help muscling it back into place. But you should be able to install this without having to cut anything but It will look a little silly without the top on the car and those brackets sticking up.

PITA to do But it can be done I would still worry about hurting soft top.
