I installed a hondata on mine. while I had the manifold off, I had a larger throttle body put on and port matched. there is a good write up on how to perform this. I followed it to the T. My spacer also blocked the engine coolant from running threw the manifold. since you are alabama, you should be able to do this as well. the coolant is the warm the air during colder months and cold start ups.

I put one on my car since I would have the manifold off anyways. if you are doing this just for the spacer, cant say I would do it. If you are not mechanically inclined or have not pulled a manifold before, I would not recommend this procedure. Again the manifold is positioned a little different from other 4-cyl, as this one is rear drive.

Tips and tricks if you proceed
Make sure you have good quality tools, this is not for the cheap knuckle breakers.
Have a variety of swivel sockets, 1/4 inch drive is the only thing that fits sometimes
Follow the How To guide to the T, I included the link
Use the locktite in the instructions
Let the car sit for 24-48 hours before cranking and drive to let the locktie dry
Be patient and careful and good luck

Link to pics of the gasket and larger TB and a link to DH racing, the company that did the TB install and port match in Las Vegas. This guy has dyno and flow charts

with just the spacer, i cant say. The port match and throttle body, yes a difference can be felt. I have not dynoed the car to prove or disprove the results though. The car seems to have a better throttle response at take off and mid range. It feels like the car has really opened up.

I have heard of people dynoing before and after installing a hondata IM gasket with no gains, so I would read up on it a little more before diving in.

The insulator gasket isn't going to add any power, its going to retain your power better then stock conditions by eliminating heat bog tendencies mostly noticed in stop and go traffic, in high rpm racing conditions I would imagine it would provide some relief there as well.

The way the OP stated his question i thought this was about an actual spacer not the Hondata gasket. Adding a spacer which some guys have machined for the S in years past, increases fuel atomization distance and in turn creates more trq. One example of this was primarily used as a secondary fuel injector location with the added trq as a side benefit.

If anyone is curious what i'm talking about, this is more like what i thought you all were discussing
