It doesn't really matter both are under the hood and will still get hot air from under the hood.. The difference between those two intakes is minimal.. So get which ever you think looks or sounds better..

I had a fipk and the heat bog killed it for me..

did you notice a significant increase in heat bog with the fipk over the stock intake? even at stock, I can feel the engine shuddering on a hot day with A/C. i'm starting to realize that this might be an issue with having a 4 cylinder engine in general.
It's been so long since I have had a stock intake that I couldn't honestly tell you. But I always had my lid off since the first day I owned the car so I really wouldn't know anyways.

But what I can tell you is that when I had my fipk with or without the ac on I could feel it if I was in traffic or at a red light long enough. And with my aem v2 I only get the bog like sensation with the ac on if im sitting in ine spot long enough. Ac off there is no bog, so its probably just the lack of torque from the engine combined with the ac pulling what it needs.

I read that the FIPK is louder but other than that CT icebox FTW!

Both of them are under the hood, so there isn't an issue of hydrolocking.

Personally, I had the CT engineering intake on my last S due to it's box/lid and thought it looked better, but performance-wise, they shouldn't be far off.

yea, my mistake, I had thought CT was a CAI but now I realize it is not. anyways, I ended up ordering the FIPK for a good price and should be getting in the next day or so. I am kind of sad it will not look as nice as the CT, but everyone seems to have positive things to say and the sound should be more pronounced since it's not encased in a box. I'll only feel buyers remorse when I open my hood lol
