I don't care if the password intake is dipped in gold no measurable gain from an intake is worth that pricetag. At that point you are 1/4 on your way to a supercharger. (Utah S2k) this is not in response to your reply at all. I just think that people take what they read on a website such as K&N's or Password jdm and buy into it. In some cases you lose power with intakes, at least on the dyno. I know I did with my K&N.

If you are looking into pulling some power out of the car I'd start with a header and exhaust. If a clutch is your future at any point look at a lightweight flywheel to go along with it and to draw in some extra power lost through the heavier OEM flywheel. Theres ways to make measurable gains but I wouldn't expect more than different sound/ more or less heatsoak depending on what intake you actually get.
You power with the K&N on a dyno?

FWIW, I notice no power difference btw a PWJDM & FIPK. I don't have heat bog issues and have datalogged the FIPK vs a stock intake (I posted a thread somewhere on here with the numbers), the FIPK definitely runs cooler, does heat up quicker at a stop light but also cools down faster once you get moving again.

In addition, I believe the way you install the FIPK makes a difference as well. I saw my friends FIPK and compared it to mine, he has waaaaay more gaps on his set-up compared to mine; I believe his setup would be a lot more susceptible to heat bog than mine.
