K&N FIPK owners please chim in
I plan on buying this intake with the idea of adapting a BPi flow stack/K&N filter to it. But before I do that, will it fit? The filter looks to be somwhat long so I'm sure it'll fit length wise. Here's the measurements I need.
Diameter of the pipe. Looks to be 3" which is perfect.
Overall Diameter of the filter. Would a 7.5" diameter filter fit in the heat shield? Would it hit the hood?
The BPi stack has been proven to make power on the H, B and K series motors so I'm sure it'll give a few ponies on an F20. I already have the BPi stack/K&N filter off of my Prelude, so it's not like I'm going to buy it along with the intake.
EDIT Hear is my review with FIPK velocity stack vs FIPK velocity stack pictures

To be honest if you are going to buy an FIPK just stick with the filter that comes with it. K&N build them to provide the maximum or correct surface area on the filter to suit each car.
From just that filter, cat by-pass pipe and custom made exhaust system, NGK IR plugs, my S2 put out 259.5 bhp / 165.4 lbs/ft (217.4 whp)
To answer your question it would probably fit in the heat shield but i'll double check tomorrow for you and post again on here

do you have a link to what product your thinking about
to the OP is there any advantage to going with a larger filter than what the FIPK came with...im looking to upgrade to a similar diameter AEM dryflow but about 2.5 inches larger...cant hurt right...

Don't buy the FIPK if you're basically just going to use the tube/heat shield. Snag up like an ebay short ram tube for cheap, make a heatshield, and get the velocity stack and filter... that will be cheaper than buying the FIPK and basically the same set up.

Here's a link to the part I plan on adding to the FIPK intake.

I already have the velocity stack and filter, off of my Prelude. So it's not going to be an additional cost. I'd also like to stay away from ebay parts. They never fit right, from my experience. I'll never buy cheap parts again.
