Default JDP Diffuser

So I purchased the JDP Diffuser back in 2012 brand new directly from JDP themselves. Question is.. is anyone else having fitment issues with this piece?

I found this thread in my search
https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/104...rear-diffuser/

and I basically had the same experience, I've cut a lot off this diffuser already, and its still not sitting right. Basically the mold/edges do not line up with the bumper at all in certain areas, therefore the doublesided tape does not make full contact, if any, with the bumper. Its getting extremely frustrating because this will be my third time taking it back off and attempting to cut/sand parts of the diffuser to make it work. I can understand fitment being off on my first install, cause who knows, maybe it was my fault... but THREE times?!?!

I also had the JDP spoiler. It fit like shit is an understatement.

This is the best that I've got the diffuser to fit so far.

I bought one directly from JDP as well. If you're in the LA area, try asking John (owner, I think that's his name) to install it for you. He offered to install it for me and it fits perfectly. I've heard this diffuser is not easy to install.

I'm in san diego, I'm going to tackle it again this week, but what I noticed is, parts of the diffuser are making contact with parts of the bumper that shouldnt be making contact. Therefore the diffuser isnt lining up perfect. Also noticed that the diffuser is a bit short and doesnt completely cover to the sides of my rear bumper. Had to cut and shave the corners so that I could mount it.

I would get another bumper (if you want to keep yours OEM) and drill holes use rivets to attach the diffuser... (you can get black ones that wont stand out).

It will be secure and look like "race" car

Apparently its perfect fitment, for those having fitment issue I believe it would be user error.

My body shop used a rubber seal everywhere the diffuser mated with the bumper. Installed it with numerous plastic push-pin rivets instead of the tape. Came out fantastic.

Have any photos? I've been thinking of going this route, your method sounds like a good option
