Default JDM Type R Shift Knob Questions

Hey, over at hardtopguy.com, I found the JDM Type R Shift Knob, as seen below:

Does anyone have this?

Is it shaped like the original S2K shift knob and the later leather-hybrid one?

I don't care much for the leather wrapped version, but the earlier one just went to crap all on its own. Does this knob do the same?

My girlfriend has had a DC Sports shift knob that is fantastic and hasn't appeared to have worn the slightest bit in the last 75k miles or so. I'm debating on whether I should just get one of those...

The gunmetal would probably look best in my yellow car, but I don't know if there'd be too many silvers going on.

Maybe if I get the carbon fiber radio cover... or would that look weird to have only that one carbon fiber piece? I guess as of now there's only one silver piece sticking out, so it shouldn't be that bad, right?

Opinions? Advice?

Hello my friend. I'm just wondering, how are you scratching your shift knob? Because before recently swapping my knob, it was almost in mint condition and I've had it for about 2 years. I don't think there are "scratch-proof" knobs.

Best feeling knob that has also lasted forever would be my Skunk2 weighted knob.

It's pretty awesome but not sure if it suites your color scheme.

I'm not scratching them personally, but it seems all of the old ones that I've seen weren't in great condition. Maybe those people just didn't take great care of them.

I've only used leather or hard rubber ones in the past, besides the DC sports ones that are in my first post.

The one the OP posted? No, it is exactly the same, just red lettering.

I just installed a SOS NSX shift knob - I have to drive around with it to see how I like it.
