I would just do stiffer engine/tranny mounts by Innovative, but J's looks cool.

For those of you who think this thing is worthless, do the following.

Open your hood

Crank your car

Go under the hood, and pull the TB pulley to rev the engine and watch how much movement there is without one of these.

I have read that if for nothing else, shifting is a TON smoother with an ETD. Evo guys are in love with these things (or were when I was looking into buying one a few years ago).

Adds weight, a PITA to install, produces no HP, costs $$$.

Oh wait....."it looks cool".

Then why do you have your side strakes? Same thing.

Do some research. Search the board for info on the ETD. MANY people can attest to the benefits.

^and many if not more have said it's useless and sold theirs. Now of course I won't hate on buyers who bought those mods, but I'd confidently say it's one of those more of a look type of mods that don't do much. I believe some ppl listed it as their "Worst mods ever bought" list as well.

I think a lot of that has to do with how much they cost. People paying $200 for these things are crazy. There is no reason one of these should cost more than about $100.

As far as being a best or worst mod, some people could care less about a "smoother shift" or throttle response, so that could be reason people list it as the worst mod.

Or it could be that they generally thing it was completely worthless. I wasn't getting one until I did what I described earlier. I got under my hood and pulled by TB pulley and was amazed at how much movement there was with my engine.

To answer his question, it won't affect the characteristics of its function.

Thanks guys

Well, just got back from work and I can defintely tell a difference for those who are curious.

Shifting is more crisp and my car's characteristics have changed as well. Letting off this gas in 6th gear does not jerk my car back and forth anymore if you know what I mean.

Wouldn't be able to tell you if its a placebo effect of not, but the motor feels more solid.

Who cares, it looks great!

Boofster, mine isn't a sticker. Its eitched into the body of the ETD.

To the hater post, let's just say it works more than nothing.

You can tell on the high speed shifts.

The installation direction does not matter but it is easier to adjust if you have the lock nut towards the engine. I didn't even bother with the logo (it's a sticker). You have it installed the same as me.
Mine isn't a sticker either, we got the newer versions with J's logo etched in the dampner. I need to install mine but i've been too lazy.
