Installing VIS c/f hardtop rear glass window
I don't want to be annoying or anything, and sorry for making all these threads.
I got quoted for 150 rear glass install with no warranty from shops, and they can only do it after Christmas. I can't wait, so I decided to do it myself.
After I put the seal around the window, and trying to put the window on the hardtop I realized that these seal sits funny and the information about using a rope to pull it in came to my mind. I was wondering if this is where you need a rope and pull the thing into the indentation for the rear window. What kind of rope? I'm guessing a really flat one, but is it actually a tool or something people just use because they have a rope laying around? Where can I get one?
Another question is that should I rough up the surface in the indentation for when I put the 3M glue in? The surface is really smooth I'd thing the glue works better with rougher surface?
Any advice or past experience will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

The inside gasket is not exactly touching the indentation surface, I think all that's touch is the side of the gasket to the side of the indentation. That can't be right is it? Still having problem to get it sit flush in the indentation

The seal looks right to me from what I can see in that pic. Your whole window with the seal should be able to sit in the hardtop where it should go, so make sure it all goes in first. Then after your 100% sure, bust out the window weld and follow the instructions I sent you in a PM yesterday.

You got the door seals wrong. You twisted them and your not suppost to. You got the part right by the rear seal right, but at the bend at the window you twisted it for some reason, and its not suppost to be like that.
Look at this top seal, its suppost to go on just like that, not twist. Hope you understand what I mean.
The rear seal looks right to me, but did you heat them when putting them on? Its best to heat them up with a hair dryer or something before you get them on to make the adhesive stickier, and it will stick a lot better.
