When I got mine stripped and repainted through insurance (somebody elses, not mine), it was something like $736 - but that was pricing for insurance since they know they can charge more.
If it's cheaper to get a new bumper, just get the new one. Keep the old one for a track bumper or sell it to recoup some $$$

500$ is fair price if they are stripping, prepping and shooting it. thats what i'd charge. stock bumper or fiberglass? alot of places i've called won't touch aftermarket bumpers. good luck.

I talked with the guy about the price and he came back at $260 to paint the bumper off the car - its a OEM AP1 nose I happen to have. Now I'm trying to decide if I want the AP1 nose I have, AP2 nose on the car that needs repainting (extra labor costs), or a different aftermarket nose...
I need to test fit the AP1 nose and see what issues I may have with the fender liners, or possibly get a nose that I know will fit the AP2.

Good paint is expensive. When shops paint a part on the car they have to use the highest quality to ensure color matching. $500 is actually pretty cheap for prep and painting a bumper. Shops in Atlanta want $400 to just paint a prepped lip....
