HONDATA intake manifold gasket
Hey guys
im just about to install a hondata intake manifold gasket into my 05 s2k.
just want to make sure i dont really need to do anything other than put it in place and thats it.
it blocks off the small hole that feeds the intake manifold and throttle body with coolant i guess... nothing more to it im assuming?
just want to make sure i dont really need to do anything else other than slip it into place and re assemble.
there are good and bad reviews on this.... so im not 100% sold atm. i have a stock gasket and a hondata one here. dont know what to install.
some say that the gasket squashes over time and bolts keep seeming loose because of this. even if you locktite it still over time becomes loose.. also i wouldnt want it leaking coolant into #4 intake.... hmmm dont know if its worth the fuss.... ??
any input???
cheers guys
Phil

Check this guide it covers almost everything http://www.s2000.org/mods/insulator
It doesn't say anything about the second bracket close to the firewall but I found it needed two washer in between.
Also if I would do the install again I would bore out that small hole for a much easier coolant bleeding process.
Just cap off the coolant line right after the bleed screw instead.

The small hole that gets blocked by the Hondata gasket feeds the bleed screw and then the throttle body.
If you don't bore it out well I'm not sure how you should bleed the system correctly, I used a diy version of this http://www.amazon.com/Lisle-24610-Sp.../dp/B001A4EAV0
