Default HKS exhaust.

How loud is it?
What are your thoughts on it?
Will it fit on an 07 AP2?

Anyone with the HKS exhaust, please chime in. HP gain is not of my main concern (gains, good. no gains, that's ok too). I'm about to pick this up from a friend and just want to make sure it's not obnoxiously loud because I'm about to do a 8-10 hour drive trip one way to Myrtle Beach this summer. I sure as hell don't wanna lose my hearing. I also DD my car, 30-60 miles a day, depending if I'm going to class or not.

not really a gain or loss on the hks.

i have it and getting the hook up from a texas s2k'er on a test pipe.

Hks w/ test pipe sounds so f-ing great. you will love it.

loud enough to be heard, but nothing serious like open headers on a civic.

anyone else?

when cruising below 5,000 rpm it's literally silent inside the car. at least with a test pipe. if you get the test pipe it should be quieter inside the car but louder outside. just get a test pipe.

HKS + Test Pipe FTW!!!!

I originally had the HKS exhaust a few years ago. Then I switched to other systems hoping for more power.
Let me tell you... You will not feel 5hp difference. Get the exhaust that sounds best! That is what will make you happiest driving your S.
And no exhaust sounds better than HKS, in my opinion.

If I do it all over again... HKS and test pipe.

When you are cruising on the highway it is just as quiet as stock. You'll be fine on your trip

Yup.
Just make sure to use the stock hangers for the canisters.
The hangers provided make the tip sit too close to the bumper.
This is mine with the stock AP2 hangers holding it in place.

Oh, and the sound of the HKS Hi-power(some call it no-power) is just amazing.
Not loud at all(I hate loud exhausts) but not too quiet.. just right.

Damn that looks good. Even though I like the OEM tip alot, I'm sold on the HKS.

PS. Is there anyway to fab the OEM tip onto the HKS? ^_^
