I have the 70mm on stock exhaust except the resonator delete. I was happy with it untill last weekend I had been cruising straight, at 45 for about 6 miles at a constant speed. I got a DTC for catalytic conv. efficiency bank 1. It happened again on sat night same conditions, but closer to home this time. Same code. I have called Berk once today with no answer. I will try again this afternoon. I love the cat other than the check engine light problem.

With stock exhaust, it is a little more raspy than before, and I can smell it slightly, just enough that I know its there. I am happy with it overall

have their 70mm version. looks pretty good. much lighter than stock. fitment where cat <-> header could be a little bit better--the cat's end is a little small, so it doesn't make as much contact with the OEM doughnut gasket as compared to the stock cat. i used a brand new doughnut gasket when i did the install, and i would recommend you to do the same for this reason. but otherwise, fitment is fine--i don't notice any leak. comes with nice bolts for the other flange. no CEL problems (drove about 500mi so far).

as for performance, i didn't notice any change in sound when used with my J's header and T1R 70EM ti exhaust. but then again, my car's interior is really loud, so it's hard for me to tell. not sure if there's any power increase. kinda sorta feels like it.

overall i'm happy with it. i'd buy again.

My OEM cat just packed it in and I am looking for a replacement. I like the look of this cat but am unsure whether to go for the 70mm or 63mm.

I have a stock exaust system at the moment but will be upgrading it in the near future.

You thoughts are appricated.
i'd get the 70mm if i were you, even if you keep OEM. internally the pipe opens into the cat material and then tapers down again anyway, so it's not like it's a totally straight connection. and i would think the 70mm opening flows a little better before the cat material anyway. also, of course, if you ever get an aftermarket 70mm exhaust, at least you'd have the matching sized cat too.

i am running stock headers, berk HFC, and invidia Q300 exhaust.
im thinking if getting the berk hfc, and was wondering how it sounds? i have the Q300 with a TP but i dont like that it gives the car the typical honda sound

You're commenting on a thread from 2009...

Anyway, there's tons of videos with the Q300 and berk HFC on YouTube. Here's one of them:

Sound clipping makes comparing exhaust videos pretty useless. Q300 behind a Berk high flow cat sounded nice on my car. For a month. Couldn't stand the drone between 3000 and 4000 rpm and pulled the Invidia from the car. The guys at the local high school loved it so perhaps this is generational?

Same Berk 63mm cat in front of a Tanabe Medalion Touring system stops the drone and makes the car habitable inside.
