Regarding the smell, was this a recent instalation? Reason I ask is that in every metallic cat install I have been in, there was a smell for about the first 300 miles or so. As to whether this was residula particulate or a "running in" effect, I don't know. However in all cases, once a few hundred miles was under the belt, the smell disappeared. By the way, same regarding smell with initial installations of Ti exhausts....

The smell is almost non-existant, it's the same as OEM.

Fitment is dead on

It will pass emissions, but this is Canada's emission, not sure about your local emission policies.

Never had a CEL

It flows very close to a test-pipe, so there is a hp/tq gain + weight saving.

It's an awesome piece, I was thinking about selling my 63mm HFC for the 70mm since I have the 70mm exhaust. But since I have a OEM header, the 63mm works well since it basically steps the exhaust from a 2.25 (OE Header)- 2.5 (Berk HFC) to 2.75 (T1R 70R-EM dual)

I read from some other thread that this hfc doesn't fit ASM single exhaust (will cause exhaust pipe to touch underbody.. something like that...).
Can someone confirm this?
I have no problem with that setup in my AP1. It's the later model AP2s that run into clearance issues due to their modified tunnel design.

And s2kologist is correct. The smell is still there especially if you tend to be more aggressive with the gas pedal. Perhaps my aftermarket ECU has something to do with it as well.

Perfect fit, definitely lighter. I have the HFC, header and Fujit exhaust on my S/C car. I think it does smell a bit, but not at all bad smelling. On an otherwise stock car I doubt it would be noticable. My car is S/C and running an AEM 1052 and I think the tune makes more of a difference in smell than a HFC. Just don't expect to be pinned back in your seat after you install it and you should be happy!

I have one on my 2007 with the header as well. It made the drone I had with my Invidia go away! I also improved the sound quality after I switched to the Mugen duals. I love it, no issues other than it regularly causes a CEL (I forget the code but it is a CAT related code). It gives me a CEL after a long period at constant speed. The folks at Berk have been really helpful but I have not yet had time to implement their fix for the CEL.

If I had it to do again I would buy the header and CAT quicker. The CEL is just a minor pain in the butt.

Just remember if you live in California like I; the high flow cat is still illegal..

I have one. I seem to be the one person who has complained that mine stinks like a test pipe. But it might not be the fault of the cat, my car might be running really rich for some reason. Had it for about 5,000 miles, no cel's.
