Hardtop and heated rear window problems
Hi all
I have recently bought a hardtop off a 2000 model, my honda is a 2005, i now get a lot of wind noise at motorway speed, is this normal with a hardtop, i have it all fitted correctly and tightened in the correct areas, are there any adjustments that can be made to stop it. i also fitted the wiring for the heated rear window on the hardtop and now that seems to have stopped working, the light on the button in the centre consoles does not come anymore now its installed, again the wiring is from the 2000 model, i'm wondering if its different to the 2005 model, i thought it was all just plug and play. Would appreciate any help with this

Check your fuse to see if that is broke, this could be the reason the defroster is not working.
Did you bend the ear of sheet metal where the rear hardtop mounts attach too? With the top on and latched, loosen all bolts on the rear brackets, unlatch and relatch the rear catches then, re torque the bolts. This should fix any air leaks you have. Good luck

No I just put the fitting kit straight on with the 4 bolts that were on the car, the noise does seem to be from the top rather than the rear, will try your suggestion of torque everything back. Thanks for your help I appreciate it

As per Honda, you have to install loose then torque down the mount hardware, also be sure the bolts go in easy. If the bolts go in tight the metal corner where the rear brackets mount is not bent over enough.
