So by dump luck I am now the new owner of a Brand New OEM hardtop. I got this top for so cheap I was willing to take a gamble on it without knowing much about hardtops in general.
●First off my S2000 is an AP1 year 2000. Is there a chance this top will not work on my car because it was meant for the AP2. Or do these OEM hardtops work with either the AP1 OR AP2.
●Second if it turns out this hardtop will indeed fit onto my car, where should I order the required mounting hardware to mount this top to my car. Are there any companies you would recommend I order the mounting kit from.

Almost feel like saying to you "just search" as there are numerous posts. AP1-2 all the same, buy in classifieds, cfl Honda, Hardtop guy, etc, etc.

Chances are that you might need hardtop striker plates on the front windshield frame, I remember hearing that the early ap1's only came with softop striker plates since the hardtop was not an option in 2000. They will still fit, but they won't clamp as tight as the hardtop striker plates.

There is a member on these forums called Euroboutique, he has a lot of hardtop mounting parts, the parts aren't cheap but they are much cheaper than buying new parts and work just as well. His posts are always in the classifieds forum, but you may want to pm him.

 

You'll be needing the defroster button/harness(2000-2001 version) and possibly the front strikers if they're not included with the hardtop. The rest is same for AP1 and AP2.
