It's very easy to remove. I went one further. H and A accessories used to have a winch for the hard top that had a bracket that belts onto the hard top. It can be left on the top while off the car (on the hard top stand) and reattached such that you can remove and install the hard top by yourself.

The top only weighs about 30 pounds (my estimate-I haven't looked it up), so it isn't that difficult to remove/reinstall, but you'll need a second person without some sort of winch.

If anyone is interested, I can take a picture of the set up. You can ALMOST see it in my avatar. I installed it above my M-my wife's car is typically parked where my S2k is in the picture, and the other garage space is a single with inadequate clearance to get around the car to get the top on and off.
