GTC500 wing--should i(from aerodynamic standpoint)
i got an excellent deal on an APR GTC-500 wing. the wing is 70" in length. i was wondering if having a wing wider than the body of the car would have any adverse effects. also, would i need to complement all the extra rear downforce with some front downforce? my only option would be ings+1 canards.
this is the wing:
thanks,
Rashad

As a general rule of thumb, the wider and taller the better due to the wing being further away from any turbulence caused by the body of the vehicle (plus a larger area will create more downforce).
It's hard to say if front downforce is needed to offset the rear wing as there are no actual numbers to work with.

I believe without a wing, the S has something like 100LBS LIFT at +/- 80MPH
so adding an big ass GT wing will generate up to 100-150LBS at those speeds so you get alot more traction during high speed corners, look for the apr-GT200 s2k specific wing topic. more info there..

^^thanks for the info. this wing is the GTC-500 (not readily offered for application to an S2000), so it will produce a significant amount more downforce than the GTC-200.
i have the ings+1 full aero kit. does anyone know if the front bumper on this kit provides any downforce (i know it is doubtful)? also would the ings+1 canards provide significant front downforce?

i was planning on installing it the day i got my car back from the bodyshop. the only reason it's not on is because i'm waiting on a stud. one of the studs that screws in the bottom of the pedestal and goes through the trunk holes was bent

Canards will not provide downforce...
IMO, as far as performance is concerned this wing is way too large and will yield too much downforce. Bigger and taller is not always better. If you're just going for looks, then who cares.
