Lmao my local honda dealer is asking $1300 for a new top. That's not installed just the top only. Oh and $20 for each spark plug.

I agree. OEM is best. I just recently replaced my top with an OE and don't understand what all the fuss is about. Fitment Is perfect and doesn't "collect" anything.

All subjective stuff -- just as best is on any topic. There are pros and cons to each option and each person needs to read up and determine which option fits the individual best.

I'm not going to bash the OEM tops; my '00 is still on the original top. I can't complain about 13 years.

That said, it's time to replace it. I want a glass rear window, so OEM isn't even an option for me. OEM is much more expensive, and I get another cheesy plastic window.

My 2000 AP1 is still wearing its original top. Perfect condition after 13 years. No wear and tear whatsoever. Maybe I kept it out of strong sunshine as much as I could. The plastic rear window has gotten a bit clouded though; nothing that can't be buffed out with some plastic polisher.

Going foward, can those who have had the tops professionally installed please also note how much they paid for the installation? It'd be much appreciated and probably helpful for future readers as well

Thanks in advance!

Well, looks like I will be getting my slightly ripped softtop "replaced" with a mugen hardtop! Its all through insurance and the shop will be uninstalling and then re-installing the softtop prior to installing the hardtop. I couldn't really comment on the price because I am having a lot of other work done at the same time.

got an EZ-on professionally installed for $1050 about a year ago. No problems, totally happy with it.
