why does it flap in the wind? The OEM one doesn't do that.

Yep. I agree 100%. I went with a EZ cloth top after my OEM ripped. While it does look better appearance wise, it's a pain in the ass to maintain IMO.

Whoever did the install didn't mark the screw locations on the rear window seal so now there is a gap which leads to flapping. The rear seal has a series of angled diagonal slots used to adjust. If you mark them while disassembling you should be good to go on reassembly. If there is a gap at the back you can loosen the screws and adjust the seal. The Helm Manual covers this in the top replacement section.

P.S. For those considering a replacement you may consider visiting the Texas-North Texas Forum. At the top pinned under "Top replacement and cost", by Clovis, provides outstanding insight from one who has replaced, and continues to replace; many, many, many tops on our cars.

I wanted to share my own experiences with Sierra top. It was purchased from Autotopsonline.com and from the looks of it, they are no longer at this web address.

Good thing too. The top I installed had a major defect that I uncovered when I was replacing it from break in (they cut my top). As I was cutting along the rear, I found that water was running out of the cut line. Turns out water was getting trapped between the cloth fabric layers in the rear section under the window. I had smelled a mild mildew smell for a while and thought it was a trunk leak as it common in S2000 for one reason or another. Turns out it was the top (Made in China)

Buyer beware

I purchase a ez on top from eBay for 419 shipped and did the install myself. The top turn out great. I use the instruction from the top and the ribbons top guide to do this.

I have to throw out another recommendation for GAHH. I took my car to an upholstery shop to redo the seats and top. The recommended a cloth top from GAHH, and looking at their samples it was an easy decision to make. The cloth is black, black, black compared to vinyl, and I swear it's quieter than the OEM top. Must be a little thicker I suppose.

Price wasn't bad either, $1200 out the door (installed).

I had oem, then ez-on, now am in the market for a new one...I haven't decided which to get, and insurance is paying for it. With this in mind, should I opt for the oem or aftermarket? The EZ-on is ok, but I don't think it was installed right as there is no clearance between the softtop and the top of the rollbar (maybe just stretched and needs to be re-riveted) and its starting to get a little "shiny" where the frame sits against the top. I like the look of the Robbins cloth but after seeing all the posts in this thread im scared of all the maintenance that may be required...
