Default Extended Lug Nuts Question

Are extended lug bolts required for extended lug nuts?
I know that's prolly a stoopid question, but I never claimed to be smart haha.

nope. Usually extended studs use open type lug bolts so the thread/studs go through the lug nuts.

nope, no need for extended studs like what everyone has said. They are literally just extended lug nuts, open or closed end type.

Looks like your question was answered... And that wasn't a stupid question. Don't hesitate to ask a question on here...That's why this forum is here, to share knowledge. As long as you post in the right section there should be no problem.

You can't use them on stock wheels, however....unless they're a ball seat extended lug. Never seen those, though. Just FYI.

if you plan on racing the car often, i would get extended studs. Daily driving wont cause any problems really. I had a stud snap off with an extended lug nut. just something to think about.

^I dont really understand what you mean, what does a stud snapping off have to do with an extended lug nut? Did you over torque it?

My bad for saying my car, it was actually a friend of mine. The heat generated seemed to make the seating of the lugnut off balanced with the xtra length of the lug. Now, could it have been b/c of a larger brake setup, maybe, but it was so odd when it happened.

Not saying anything bad here, but after that i switched to regular length lugs for my car. All i am is saying is it is something to consider.

The purpose of extended lugs is to allow for more threads to be used which allows for more force to be held.

at the end of the day, the extended studs look sexy haha
